TD Music Event

We cheered the loudest, and as a result won the TD Bank free concert featuring The Stills, K-OS, and Girltalk. The concert was much anticipated by many students here at X, and lead to frustration around the dispursal of tickets. Tickets to the concert to be held in the Mackay room were limited to 800. Details on where and when to pick up tickets were to be sent out via the facebook inbox to those of which had joined the TD event on facebook. Due to technical difficulties of Facebook, many students (including myself) did not receive details until 2 hours after the tickets were given out. Those who were lucky enough to get the message, or check the event wall posts, received the details, and most were able to get tickets. The student union stepped up and were able to get additional tickets which were randomly distributed to members of the event (me being one of these lucky individuals). The concert was set to start at 7pm, and I was one of the first goers to arrive. I staked out my spot against the fence, where I intended to spend the rest of the night. The Stills took the stage around 7:30, and played an energetic set to get the crowd going (which was still relatively small at the time). They opened with their hit song "I'm with you" and played several others before leaving the stage. The crowd had gorwn significantly, and the wait for K-OS to take the stage resulted in crowding and pushing towards the stage front (which also resulted in the front rows being squished against the fence). The campus police, along with other concert officials, tried to get the crowd back, in a helpless effort. They threatened to shut the show down if everyone didn't get back, but K-OS eventually took the stage after about a half hour of pushing. After about 10 minutes of K-OS being on stage, I grew tired of being squished and decided to take off, I'm not really into his style of music anyway. From what I heard, the rest of the show was awesome, and Girltalk really pumped up the crowd. Thanks for reading :)
