Welcome Back
It's been awhile since my last post on this blog. Midterms, being sick, and paper/projects have kept me busy. The latest buzz that is going around campus is H1N1. Signs of the flu are evident everywhere, from information emails, to hand sanitizer, to decreased class sizes. Many students who are experiencing H1N1 like symptoms have been quarantined to their dorm rooms on campus. I've also heard rumors floating around that if the number of H1N1 cases on campus reaches between 20-30% of students that the university will be shut down (possibly til the end of this semester). This rumor has been hopeful for some, but not all. The general consensus I've gotten from 4th year students is they don't want a university shut down in fear that this may postpone their graduation. Personally, either way is okay with me. I was also lucky enough to receive my H1N1 vaccine before the shortage arose and is now limited to high risk categories (it only took 5 hours of waiting, and missing one class). I should also mention that StFX has again been in the news for it's achievements in the Globe and Mail, and Macleans Magazine university reports (brief articles can be viewed at www.alumni.stfx.ca). This just goes to show, as many of you already know, how fortunate we are to be students/grads of StFX. Thanks for reading
